Symbol Quarterly Returns

How a symbol's price has moved, quarter by quarter, year after year.

This widget shows one symbol's percentage price change for every quarter (Q1-Q4) of every year it has price history for — laid out as a year-by-quarter grid, computed automatically from FMchart's own daily price history.

Pick any symbol in EXCHANGE:TICKER format and how many years to show (3 to 20). A quarter still in progress shows its return-so-far rather than being hidden, and a quarter with no price data yet shows a dash rather than a guessed number.

Frequently asked questions

Which symbols does this work for?

Any symbol FMchart has daily price history for — FMchart's own composite symbols (FMCHART:*-USD) tend to have the deepest history, some going back to 2017.

Why does a quarter show a dash instead of a number?

A dash means there's no price data for that specific quarter yet — for example a symbol whose history starts partway through a year. The widget never fills in a guessed number for missing data.

Is this the same as Symbol Annual Price Change?

No — that widget shows one row per YEAR. This one breaks each year into its four quarters, so you can see which part of the year drove the annual move.
