What are tokenized stocks?

Tokenized stocks are blockchain-based tokens that track the price of a real, publicly traded share or ETF. Each token in this screener is issued by Backed Finance under the "xStocks" brand — for every token in circulation, Backed holds one real share in custody, and the token's price is designed to track that share 1:1. This lets a token represent regulated equities like Apple, Tesla, or an S&P 500 tracker while trading on a blockchain instead of a traditional exchange.

This is a distinct asset class from ordinary cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, and similar coins have no underlying real-world asset) and from the stocks themselves (which trade only during regular market hours through a broker). Tokenized stocks sit in between — a crypto-native wrapper around a real equity.

What makes tokenized stocks different from the underlying shares

Because these tokens trade on-chain rather than on a stock exchange, they follow crypto market hours — trading continues 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including when the underlying stock market is closed. Prices can still move outside of regular trading hours as a result, and the token's price can occasionally diverge slightly from the real share price if on-chain liquidity is thin.

Each token is fully collateralized: Backed Finance publishes proof-of-reserve attestations confirming one real share is held for every token minted. That backing is what's supposed to keep the token price anchored to the real share price over time, even though the two trade in completely separate markets.

How to read the screener table

The table below organizes tokens by several key columns. Price shows the current on-chain trading price, while the 1h/24h/7d/30d/1y columns show the price change over that time period. Market Cap reflects the total value of all tokens of that stock currently in circulation — not the real company's own market cap, just the value locked in the token itself.

Volume shows 24h trading volume in US dollars across the token's on-chain markets. None of these figures are a recommendation; they're simply data points to help you compare tokens on the same terms. Click any column header to sort, or use the search box to jump straight to a ticker.

Common questions about tokenized stocks

Is a tokenized stock the same thing as owning the real share?

Not directly — you're holding a token backed 1:1 by a share Backed Finance custodies on your behalf, not the share itself in a brokerage account. The token is designed to track the share's price closely, backed by published proof-of-reserve attestations, but it's a separate instrument traded in a separate market.

Why does the price sometimes differ slightly from the real stock?

Tokenized stocks trade 24/7 on-chain, while the underlying shares only trade during regular exchange hours. Outside those hours — or when on-chain liquidity is thin — the token's price can drift slightly from the last real share price until the market catches up.

What does market cap mean for a tokenized stock?

It's the value of all tokens of that ticker currently in circulation (price × token supply) — not the real company's own stock market capitalization. A token with low circulating supply can show a much smaller market cap than the company itself, even at the same per-share price.
