Recorded Liquidations Heatmap
Recorded liquidations are forced closures that exchanges report publicly (not model estimates). Each row is a coin, each cell one 15-minute or 1-hour period.
Color = total liquidated value in the cell (longs + shorts, USD): darker = less, brighter = more; the brightest blue covers the top 1% of cells for the selected timeframe and coin count, so every page uses the same scale. Long = a long position was force-closed; Short = a short position was force-closed.
Dots mark cells where long or short liquidations reached the threshold shown under the heatmap; dot size grows with the value.
Coins are ranked by total recorded liquidations in the selected timeframe. Times are UTC. Hatched cells are before FMchart started recording.

About this heatmap
The heatmap aggregates liquidation orders that exchanges publish in real time, grouped by coin and by 15-minute or 1-hour period. It shows where forced selling (long liquidations) and forced buying (short liquidations) clustered across the market, for example during a sharp move that cleared leveraged positions on many coins at once. For estimated liquidation levels by price, see the Liquidation Heatmap; for live orders and totals, see the Liquidation Tracker.
