Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Arweave Markets
Arweave Historical Data
About Arweave (AR)
Arweave (AR) is the native token of Arweave, a network built to store data permanently. Instead of paying a monthly bill, users pay once when they upload a file. Miners are then rewarded for keeping copies of that data for the long term. AR is used to pay for storage and to reward miners. One AR is divided into a trillion smaller units called Winston. Arweave's mainnet went live on June 8, 2018. This page shows AR at FMchart's composite price, a US dollar average from trading on several exchanges.
Pay once, store for centuries
Arweave's documentation says a one-time upload fee is meant to cover about 200 years of replicated storage at current prices. Most of each fee goes into a storage endowment, and the rest goes to the miner straight away. The endowment pays miners only when block rewards and fees no longer cover storage costs. The model assumes storage keeps getting cheaper, needing a decline of just 0.5% a year. Arweave's documentation notes that storage costs historically fell far faster, by about 38.5% a year over 50 years.
The permaweb
Because data on Arweave is meant to stay online and unchanged, people use it to publish websites, documents and app files that cannot be quietly edited or removed. This collection of permanent, timestamped content is called the permaweb. Each upload carries a record of when it was added. That makes Arweave useful for archives, public records and apps that need data to stay available.
How mining works
Arweave miners use a system called SPoRA, short for Succinct Proofs of Random Access. To win a block, a miner must prove it can quickly read random chunks of stored data. A verifiable delay function limits how fast anyone can mine, which favors ordinary hard drives over costly hardware. Data is stored in partitions, each packed uniquely with the miner's address, so miners cannot simply copy one another.
A 66 million AR cap, plus AO and AR.IO
Arweave created 55 million AR at its 2018 launch. Another 11 million are released gradually as mining rewards, so the maximum supply is 66 million AR. Two related projects run on top of Arweave with their own tokens. AO, a computing network, launched its mainnet in February 2025. AR.IO, a gateway and naming network, launched its mainnet and ARIO token the same month.
If storage costs stop falling
Arweave's promise rests on long-term assumptions, especially that storage costs keep falling. If they fall more slowly, the endowment would need to pay out sooner than planned. Demand for permanent storage, competition from other storage networks and miner participation all affect AR. Data that is stored permanently also cannot easily be removed. AR has been very volatile, like most crypto tokens.

Arweave (AR) FAQ
What is Arweave (AR)?
Arweave is a network for storing data permanently, and AR is its native token. Users pay a one-time fee in AR to upload data, and miners earn AR for keeping copies over the long term. The mainnet launched in June 2018, and the maximum supply is 66 million AR.
How does Arweave store data permanently?
Arweave charges a single upfront fee, and most of it goes into a storage endowment. The endowment pays miners when block rewards and fees no longer cover storage costs. Arweave's documentation says the fee should cover about 200 years of replicated storage, assuming storage prices fall by at least 0.5% a year.
What is the permaweb?
The permaweb is the collection of websites, files and apps stored permanently on Arweave. Content is timestamped and meant to stay unchanged, so it cannot be quietly edited or taken down. People use it for archives, public records and apps that need their data to stay reachable over the long term.
What is AR's price right now?
AR is valued at roughly $3.4212 on FMchart's composite, a blend of prices from several exchanges. In the last 24 hours, trading in AR reached about $2.09M across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Quotes on a single exchange may be slightly higher or lower.
What is the max supply of AR?
AR's supply is capped at 66,000,000 tokens, and about 65,652,466 are circulating today. Arweave created 55 million AR in 2018 and releases the remaining tokens as mining rewards. Circulating AR is worth about $224.6M at today's price, ranking it 164.
When did AR reach its all-time high?
The record high for AR is $89.24, which it hit on Nov 4, 2021. For context, the Price Statistics panel also tracks the all-time low and the percentage distance from both. A record high reflects conditions at that moment and does not indicate where AR heads next.
How has AR performed by month?
In FMchart's composite price history (since April 2025), AR's standout month on the upside was September 2026 (+98.6%); on the downside it was February 2026 (-38.1%). Monthly Returns (USD) maps every month, and Annual Price (USD) Change compares full years. AR's returns have been lumpy rather than steady.
How does Arweave mining work?
Arweave uses SPoRA, or Succinct Proofs of Random Access. Miners must show they can quickly read random chunks of stored data to win blocks. A verifiable delay function caps mining speed, which favors ordinary hard drives. Each data partition is packed with the miner's address, so storage cannot simply be copied from others.
Is AO the same as AR?
No. AO is a separate computing network built on Arweave, and its mainnet launched in February 2025 with its own AO token. AO has a maximum supply of 21 million, with part distributed to AR holders over time. Holding AR and holding AO are different exposures.
Is AR a good investment?
FMchart cannot decide that for anyone. AR's value depends on demand for permanent storage, miner participation and whether storage costs keep falling as Arweave's model assumes. Competing storage networks and related tokens like AO and ARIO also draw attention. AR has seen large price swings over its history.
