Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Arbitrum Markets

About Arbitrum (ARB)
Arbitrum is a group of networks that make Ethereum transactions cheaper by processing them away from the main chain. Its flagship network, Arbitrum One, went live in August 2021 and posts its data back to Ethereum. ARB is the governance token that lets holders steer the Arbitrum DAO. FMchart's composite, which follows ARB on several exchanges at once, supplies the US dollar price on this page.
Optimistic rollups in plain terms
Arbitrum is an optimistic rollup. It runs transactions on its own chain, bundles them and posts the data to Ethereum. Results are assumed correct unless a validator challenges them. If validators disagree, a dispute protocol called BoLD narrows the argument down to a single step. Ethereum then decides who is right, using the data already posted as the record. Costs fall because many transactions share one Ethereum posting and because the data is compressed.
One, Nova and custom chains
Arbitrum One is the main rollup and posts all transaction data to Ethereum. Arbitrum Nova uses a model called AnyTrust, in which a small committee keeps data available, lowering fees at the cost of extra trust. Teams can also launch their own chains with Arbitrum technology. These can run as layer 2s on Ethereum or as layer 3s on other chains, with their own fee and governance settings. Robinhood Chain went live on this stack on 1 July 2026 and returns 10% of net protocol revenue under a licensing program.
What ARB holders decide
ARB was minted on Arbitrum One, and users could claim their airdrop from March 2023. The token gives holders a voice in Arbitrum DAO governance, with voting held on Arbitrum One. The DAO treasury received about 35% of the initial 10 billion ARB, the largest single share. Team members, contributors and investors were allocated roughly 44% combined, and the Arbitrum Foundation received 7.5%. Users who qualified for the airdrop shared 11.62%, and DAOs building on Arbitrum got another 1.13%.
Timeboost and the express lane
Arbitrum One and Nova use a transaction ordering policy called Timeboost. In each round, by default 60 seconds long, a sealed-bid auction decides who controls an express lane for that round. The winner gets a brief head start but cannot reorder other people's transactions. The second-highest bid is paid to a beneficiary chosen by the chain owner. Value once captured by trading bots can then go to the chain's community. Arbitrum's documentation also presents Timeboost as a way to protect users from front-running and sandwich attacks.
Dilution and a crowded field
Governance rules allow ARB's supply to grow by up to 2% a year, which would dilute existing holders. Tokens allocated to the team and investors have been released over time, adding to circulation. Arbitrum competes with many other layer 2 networks for users, apps and fees. ARB's price depends on how much value the DAO and its ecosystem can create, and it has been volatile since launch.

Arbitrum (ARB) FAQ
What is Arbitrum (ARB)?
Arbitrum is a set of layer 2 networks that process Ethereum transactions more cheaply and settle them back on Ethereum. ARB is its governance token, used to vote in the Arbitrum DAO. Arbitrum One, the main network, launched in August 2021, and ARB followed with an airdrop in March 2023.
How does Arbitrum make Ethereum cheaper?
Arbitrum runs transactions on its own chain and posts them to Ethereum in compressed batches. Many users share the cost of each posting, and Ethereum does not have to re-run every transaction. If someone disputes a result, the BoLD protocol narrows the disagreement to one step, and Ethereum settles it using the posted data.
Who built Arbitrum?
Arbitrum was built by Offchain Labs, which launched Arbitrum One in August 2021. Steven Goldfeder is one of the company's co-founders. Since ARB launched in 2023, the Arbitrum DAO has governed the network. The Arbitrum Foundation, which received 7.5% of the initial supply, supports the ecosystem.
What is ARB trading at today?
ARB is changing hands near $0.1671, according to FMchart's composite of exchange quotes. In the past 24 hours, about $18.78M of ARB traded across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Small differences from one exchange's own ticker are normal, since the composite averages several venues.
How many ARB tokens are circulating?
Roughly 6,892,115,031 ARB are in circulation, from an initial supply of 10 billion. At today's price, those tokens add up to a market cap of about $1.15B, which places Arbitrum at rank 71. Released allocations, and up to 2% yearly inflation if it is used, can raise the count.
What is the highest price ARB has reached?
ARB topped out at $2.39 on Jan 12, 2024, based on market data. For much of the time since its 2023 airdrop it has traded well under that peak, so the figure says little about the next move. The Price Statistics panel pairs it with the all-time low and today's percentage distance.
How has ARB performed since FMchart began tracking it?
In FMchart's composite price history (since March 2023), ARB's strongest month was September 2026 (+85.5%) and its weakest was April 2024 (-38.5%). Each month's figure is in the Monthly Returns (USD) table; calendar-year totals are in the Annual Price (USD) Change table. A record this mixed describes the past only.
What is Arbitrum Timeboost?
Timeboost is a transaction ordering policy on Arbitrum One and Nova. A sealed-bid auction picks who controls an express lane each round, giving the winner a short time advantage without the power to reorder others. The second-highest bid goes to a beneficiary chosen by the chain owner instead of to trading bots.
Is ARB a good investment?
There is no single answer, and FMchart does not make recommendations. Arbitrum earns DAO income from Timeboost and licensed chains such as Robinhood Chain. But ARB faces supply growth from releases and possible inflation, plus strong competition among layer 2 networks. Its price has moved sharply since launch.
What affects the ARB price?
ARB tends to move with Ethereum and the wider crypto market. Arbitrum-specific factors include network activity and fees, and DAO income from Timeboost and licensed chains such as Robinhood Chain. Token releases and governance decisions on spending or inflation matter too. Competition from other layer 2 networks also matters.
