Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.MultiversX Markets

About MultiversX (EGLD)
MultiversX (EGLD) is a proof-of-stake blockchain, and EGLD is its native coin. The network was called Elrond until 3 November 2022, when it rebranded at its xDay event in Paris. The coin kept the EGLD name. It pays transaction fees and is staked with validators who secure the chain. Quotes on this page come from FMchart's composite index, which merges EGLD trading on several exchanges into one US dollar price.
Elrond's 2020 launch
Mainnet went live on 30 July 2020, according to the MultiversX timeline, with 2,169 validator nodes and 1,387 accounts at genesis. On the same day, the older ERD token was redenominated at 1,000 to 1 into EGLD, which kept its value but removed zeros. By early September 2026, the timeline counted about 9.25 million accounts and more than 625 million transactions since genesis. The timeline notes that French and Romanian digital ministers attended the 2022 rebrand announcement in Paris.
Tail inflation replaces the old cap
Earlier EGLD economics described a maximum supply of about 31.4 million, with issuance halving each year. Tail inflation replaced that cap in 2025. The Staking V5 release, published on 24 November 2025 and activated on 2 December 2025, introduced tail inflation. Issuance starts at 8.757% in the first year, with a yearly decay parameter of 0.25% and a floor of 2%. Half of first-year issuance goes to staking rewards, 20% to a growth dividend, 20% to an ecosystem growth fund and 10% to protocol sustainability. The release said a new fee structure would follow about a month after Supernova. It would split the base fee between builders and a burn, starting at 90/10 and moving toward 50/50 over eight years.
Conditional rewards and Supernova
Only 60% of that issuance, the staking and sustainability shares, is released automatically. The other 40% unlocks only if ecosystem targets are met. MultiversX activated its Supernova upgrade on mainnet on 10 September 2026, cutting the target block time from six seconds to 600 milliseconds. Cointelegraph described it as separating consensus from execution, so voting on a block no longer waits for every transaction to run. That fee plan would also send priority fees to validators and burn fees from failed transactions in full.
A five-day halt in September 2026
On 19 September 2026, MultiversX said an attempted exploit of a virtual-machine atomicity issue had caused invalid state changes, and block production stopped. Mainnet came back online on 24 September, about five days later, CryptoSlate reported. Exchanges reopened deposits and withdrawals on their own timelines. When CryptoSlate checked on 24 September, Kraken still showed cancel-only trading and paused transfers. Upbit designated EGLD for a trading caution review, with a decision window expected on 19–23 October 2026, crypto.news reported. Security incidents, new issuance under tail inflation and competition from other layer-1 networks are the main risks for EGLD holders.

MultiversX (EGLD) FAQ
What is MultiversX (EGLD)?
MultiversX is a proof-of-stake blockchain, formerly called Elrond, and EGLD is its native coin. EGLD pays network fees and is staked with validators who secure the chain. Since late 2025, new EGLD is issued under a tail-inflation model with a 2% floor.
Is Elrond the same as MultiversX?
Yes. Elrond rebranded as MultiversX on 3 November 2022, announcing the change at its xDay event in Paris. The blockchain and its EGLD coin carried on under the new name, so holders did not need to swap tokens. The original ERD token had already been redenominated into EGLD in July 2020.
What is MultiversX Staking V5?
Staking V5 is the reward model released on 24 November 2025 to put tail inflation into effect. First-year issuance is 8.757%, falling toward a 2% floor. Half goes to stakers, and 40% of the issuance unlocks only if ecosystem targets are reached.
What is the EGLD price today?
EGLD changes hands around $3.2376 in FMchart's composite, which averages trading on several exchanges into one dollar figure. Roughly $413.8K worth of EGLD traded in the past 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. The figure updates as new trades arrive from those exchanges.
How many EGLD are in circulation?
Around 31,046,316 EGLD circulate today. Market data lists no maximum supply, because tail inflation replaced the earlier capped model in 2025. At the composite price, the circulating coins amount to a market cap near $100.5M, putting MultiversX at rank 279.
When did EGLD set its all-time high?
EGLD's peak in market data is $545.64, reached on Nov 23, 2021. The network has since rebranded, adopted tail inflation and gone through a five-day halt in September 2026. Today's distance from that high, and from the all-time low, appears in the Price Statistics panel.
How has EGLD performed month by month?
In FMchart's composite price history (since December 2022), EGLD recorded its best month in November 2024 (+82.6%) and its worst in April 2024 (-36.1%). The Monthly Returns (USD) grid has the rest, and the Annual Price (USD) Change table sums up each year. Earlier results do not set expectations for later ones.
What is the MultiversX Supernova upgrade?
Supernova is a protocol upgrade that MultiversX activated on mainnet on 10 September 2026. It cut the target block time from six seconds to 600 milliseconds by separating consensus from transaction execution. MultiversX described it as the most ambitious upgrade in the protocol's history.
Why did the MultiversX network halt in September 2026?
On 19 September 2026, MultiversX said an attempted exploit of a virtual-machine atomicity issue had caused invalid state changes, and the chain stopped producing blocks. It restarted on 24 September. Several exchanges paused EGLD transfers, and Upbit placed the coin under a trading caution review.
Is EGLD a good investment?
That judgment is yours to make; FMchart provides no investment advice. EGLD stakers earn rewards from new issuance, and the network has upgraded its speed. Tail inflation adds supply each year, though, and the September 2026 halt showed that security incidents can disrupt both the chain and exchange access.
