Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Ethereum Name Service Markets

About Ethereum Name Service (ENS)
Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a naming system for Ethereum. It turns long wallet addresses into readable names such as alice.eth. The ENS token is used to govern the protocol through the ENS DAO. Each name works like a short, human-friendly label that wallets and apps can look up. Prices shown here are FMchart's composite, built in US dollars from trading on several exchanges.
How .eth names work
A .eth name points to an Ethereum address and can store other records, such as addresses on other chains or a website link. Each name is an NFT owned by the registrant's wallet, so it can be transferred or sold like other NFTs. Names are rented by the year rather than bought forever. After a name expires, there is a 90-day grace period. A 21-day auction with a declining premium follows before others can register it.
Fees priced in dollars, paid in ETH
Registration prices are set in US dollars and paid in ETH through a price oracle. Names with five or more characters cost $5 a year. Four-character names cost $160 a year, and three-character names cost $640. Ethereum gas fees come on top of these prices. Under EP 6.43, which the DAO approved in 2026, five-plus character names will cost $8 a year and the grace period will shrink to 28 days once ENSv2 launches on mainnet.
The ENS token and the 2021 airdrop
The ENS token launched with a supply of 100 million. Half went to the DAO's community treasury, 25% to contributors and 25% to an airdrop for .eth name holders. Claims ran until May 4, 2022, and unclaimed tokens were sent to the DAO treasury. The token contract lets the DAO vote to mint up to 2% more per year, but it has not done so. Holders can vote directly or delegate their votes.
From Namechain to ENSv2
ENS Labs had planned Namechain, its own layer-2 network. On February 6, 2026, it cancelled that plan and said ENSv2, the next version of the protocol, would deploy on Ethereum mainnet instead. ENS co-founder Nick Johnson pointed to a roughly 99% fall in ENS registration gas costs over the previous year as a key reason. Until ENSv2 goes live, names keep working under the current system.
Governance, upgrades and renewals
The ENS token carries governance rights over the protocol and the DAO treasury, but no share of registration fees. Smart contract changes in ENSv2 carry upgrade risk, and launch dates can slip. Rival naming systems exist on other chains. Name owners face a separate risk: a name that is not renewed can eventually pass to a new registrant. Like other governance tokens, ENS can swing sharply with crypto market sentiment.

Ethereum Name Service (ENS) FAQ
What is Ethereum Name Service (ENS)?
ENS is a naming system that maps readable names like alice.eth to Ethereum addresses and other records. Each .eth name is an NFT rented by the year. The ENS token lets holders vote in the ENS DAO, which manages the protocol and its treasury.
How much does a .eth name cost?
A .eth name with five or more characters costs $5 a year. Four-character names cost $160 a year, and three-character names cost $640 a year. Prices are set in dollars and paid in ETH, plus gas. An approved change will raise the five-plus price to $8 and cut the grace period to 28 days when ENSv2 reaches mainnet.
Do I need the ENS token to register a name?
No. Registrations and renewals are paid in ETH, not with the ENS token. The token is used for governance, letting holders vote or delegate votes in the ENS DAO. Holding ENS does not entitle anyone to a share of the registration fees.
What is ENS trading at today?
The ENS token sits near $5.1464 on FMchart's composite, an average across several exchanges. About $1.18M of ENS traded during the last 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. An exchange's own price can drift a little from this figure.
How many ENS tokens are there?
About 42,306,201 ENS circulate out of a total supply of 100 million. The DAO can mint up to 2% more a year but never has. Half of the supply was assigned to the DAO treasury. At today's price, circulating ENS is worth about $217.7M, which ranks it 168 among cryptocurrencies.
When was ENS at its all-time high?
On Nov 10, 2021, the ENS token traded at its record price of $83.4. Today's distance from that peak, and from the all-time low, is listed under Price Statistics. That record dates from soon after the November 2021 airdrop, when the token had only just started trading.
How has ENS performed month to month?
In FMchart's composite price history (since November 2021), the ENS token's high point for a single month came in November 2024 (+139.9%), and its low point in January 2022 (-48.2%). The Monthly Returns (USD) table holds the rest, and Annual Price (USD) Change sums each year. Results have been very uneven over time.
Can the ENS DAO create new tokens?
Yes, within limits. The ENS token contract lets the DAO mint new tokens of up to 2% of supply once every 365 days, and only through a governance vote. The DAO has never used this option, so the total supply has stayed at 100 million since launch.
What happened to Namechain, and what is ENSv2?
Namechain was a planned ENS layer-2 network. ENS Labs cancelled it on February 6, 2026, and said ENSv2, a redesign of the protocol, would launch on Ethereum mainnet instead. ENS co-founder Nick Johnson cited a steep fall in registration gas costs on Ethereum. Names registered today keep working under the current system.
Is the ENS token a good investment?
That is a personal decision, and FMchart does not recommend assets. The ENS token gives governance rights but no direct share of fees. Its price depends on interest in Ethereum naming, treasury decisions and the ENSv2 rollout. It has been volatile since its 2021 airdrop.
