Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.IOTA Markets

About IOTA (IOTA)
IOTA is the native token of the IOTA network, a layer-1 blockchain supported by the IOTA Foundation. IOTA was first known for the Tangle, a design without miners or blocks, in which each new transaction helped confirm earlier ones. In May 2025, the network switched to a new architecture called IOTA Rebased. On this page, IOTA's price is FMchart's composite, a US dollar figure averaged across several exchanges.
From the Tangle to Rebased
The IOTA Rebased upgrade went live on mainnet on May 5, 2025, replacing the previous Stardust network. Rebased brought smart contracts written in the Move language directly to the base layer, along with an object-based ledger that tracks assets as individual objects. Holders did not need to migrate their tokens manually. The network started with 13 validators and expanded the set later. A new wallet replaced the older Firefly wallet. IOTA EVM, a separate layer-2 chain for Ethereum-style apps, also resumed with a new bridge.
Validators and staking
Rebased introduced delegated Proof of Stake. Validators confirm transactions, and Rebased was designed for up to 150 validators. A validator needs at least 2 million IOTA in stake to join, and that stake can come from delegators. Holders who stake earn rewards in proportion to their stake, minus the validator's commission. On April 23, 2026, a new consensus engine called Starfish went live on mainnet.
No fixed maximum supply
Before Rebased, IOTA had a fixed supply of 4.6 billion tokens. Those 4.6 billion were carried over, but the network now mints 767,000 new IOTA every epoch. IOTA's documentation describes an epoch as a fixed period of typically around 24 hours. It also says there is no fixed maximum supply. Part of each transaction fee is burned, which partly offsets the new tokens. Balances also moved from 6 to 9 decimal places.
TWIN and trade projects
The IOTA Foundation focuses on digital trade. TWIN is open infrastructure for moving trade data and documents across borders. In 2026, the Foundation reorganized its engineering, research, design and product teams into a single pipeline aimed at trade adoption. It also works on ADAPT, an African digital trade program, and says Kenya, Nigeria and Morocco were selected as the first countries to implement ADAPT. It reports TWIN deployment work in the UK.
Risks for IOTA holders
IOTA's switch to inflation means supply grows every day, so demand must keep pace for the price to hold. Its strategy depends on trade projects that move at the speed of governments and institutions. Rival smart contract platforms compete for developers. The network has also gone through major redesigns, which carry technical risk. IOTA has been volatile throughout its history.

IOTA (IOTA) FAQ
What is IOTA?
IOTA is the token of a layer-1 network supported by the IOTA Foundation. Since the May 2025 Rebased upgrade, it runs Move smart contracts and uses delegated Proof of Stake with validators. IOTA no longer has a fixed supply, and the Foundation focuses on digital trade projects such as TWIN.
What was IOTA Rebased?
IOTA Rebased was a mainnet upgrade on May 5, 2025, that replaced the Stardust network. It added Move smart contracts on the base layer, an object-based ledger and delegated Proof of Stake with validators. Token holders did not need to migrate manually, and a new wallet replaced Firefly.
Does IOTA still have a fixed supply?
No. Before Rebased, IOTA was capped at 4.6 billion tokens. Since the upgrade, the network mints 767,000 new IOTA each epoch, which lasts about a day, and IOTA's documentation says there is no fixed maximum. Part of transaction fees is burned, which offsets some of the new supply.
What is IOTA's price today?
IOTA stands at about $0.0421 on FMchart's composite, built from trading on several exchanges. Roughly $947.9K of IOTA traded in the past 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. A single exchange may show a slightly different number at any given moment.
How many IOTA tokens are in circulation?
Around 4,704,061,131 IOTA are circulating, and the total keeps growing because 767,000 tokens are minted each epoch. There is no maximum supply, although fee burns offset part of the new issuance. At today's price, circulating IOTA is valued near $197.9M, which ranks it 179.
What is IOTA's all-time high?
IOTA's record price is $5.25, set on Dec 18, 2017. Price Statistics shows the gap between today's price and that record, plus the all-time low. The network's design and supply rules have changed completely since then, so the comparison with today's price is limited.
How have IOTA's monthly returns looked?
In FMchart's composite price history (since August 2026), September 2026 (+34.5%) was IOTA's best month on record and August 2026 (+17.9%) its worst. Further down, Monthly Returns (USD) shows each month and Annual Price (USD) Change each year. IOTA's monthly returns have swung widely in both directions.
How do you stake IOTA?
IOTA holders delegate their tokens to a validator and earn a share of rewards in proportion to their stake, minus the validator's commission. Validators need at least 2 million IOTA in total stake to join the active set, and stake from delegators counts toward that minimum.
What is TWIN?
TWIN is open digital infrastructure for trade, supported by the IOTA Foundation. It aims to move trade data and documents across borders more securely. In 2026, the Foundation organized its teams around trade adoption. It reports TWIN work in the UK and is involved in ADAPT, an African program whose first selected countries are Kenya, Nigeria and Morocco.
Is IOTA a good investment?
FMchart takes no position on that. IOTA's value depends on adoption of its network and trade projects, and on whether demand can absorb new tokens minted every day. Competition among smart contract platforms is strong. IOTA has also lost much of its value at times in its history.
