Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

Mina Protocol Historical Data

About Mina Protocol (MINA)

Mina Protocol (MINA) is a layer-1 blockchain that replaces the usual long transaction history with a small cryptographic proof. MINA is its native token, used to pay fees and to stake in the network's consensus. Because the proof stays the same size, Mina says the network stays accessible even as it grows and gathers years of data. This page prices MINA with FMchart's composite index, which turns trading on several exchanges into one US dollar figure.

A blockchain that fits in a proof

Most blockchains ask new participants to download or check the whole history, which keeps growing. Mina instead uses recursive zero-knowledge proofs, known as zk-SNARKs, to verify the network and its transactions. Instead of checking the chain from its first block, participants verify one proof. A node can then store that small proof rather than the entire chain. Two groups keep this running. Block producers create new blocks, while SNARK workers generate the proofs that compress the chain's work.

Ouroboros consensus and delegation

Mina's proof-of-stake consensus is a version of Ouroboros Praos, a protocol from academic research, adapted for a succinct blockchain. Holders who do not run a node can delegate MINA to a block producer and share in its rewards. Delegation takes effect after a latency of two to four weeks, and the full balance is always delegated. Holders can re-delegate or undelegate at any time without penalty. Delegating is itself an on-chain transaction, so it costs a small fee. The Mina Foundation also runs a delegation program for block producers. Market data lists no maximum supply for MINA.

zkApps, Berkeley and Mesa

Mina's smart contracts are called zkApps. The Berkeley upgrade, completed in June 2024, added zkApp programmability, recursive proofs and a new transaction model, along with an archive database migration. The Mesa hard fork, which reached mainnet in September 2026, cut slot times from three minutes to 90 seconds, o1Labs said. It also raises limits on on-chain state, events, actions and account updates, so zkApps can handle more complex transactions. Mesa adds an automated hard fork mechanism, letting nodes prepare future upgrades in advance by keeping current and migrated ledgers in sync.

Developer adoption and upgrade coordination

Mina's design differs from the smart contract platforms most developers already use, so its growth depends on builders choosing zkApps. Hard forks have needed node operators, exchanges and archive nodes to upgrade together, a coordination burden that Mesa's automation is meant to ease. Mesa was tested on a public network called Mesa Trail before its September 2026 mainnet launch. Like other proof-of-stake networks, Mina relies on stake being spread across many independent block producers. Its value to holders also depends on how much activity zkApps bring to the chain.

Mina Protocol (MINA) FAQ

What is Mina Protocol (MINA)?

Mina is a layer-1 blockchain that keeps a small, constant-size cryptographic proof instead of a growing transaction history. MINA is its native token, used for fees and for staking. Its smart contracts, called zkApps, rely on zero-knowledge proofs, and holders can delegate MINA to block producers.

Why is Mina called a succinct blockchain?

Mina uses recursive zk-SNARKs, a type of zero-knowledge proof, to compress the state of the whole chain into one small proof. Nodes can verify the network by checking that proof instead of replaying every past block. The proof stays a consistent size as the network grows.

What is a zkApp on Mina?

A zkApp is a smart contract on Mina built around zero-knowledge proofs. Developers gained full zkApp programmability with the Berkeley upgrade in June 2024, which also brought recursive proofs and a new transaction model. Holders interact with zkApps through ordinary Mina transactions that pay a fee in MINA.

What is MINA's price today?

MINA is trading near $0.0634 in FMchart's composite index, which blends prices from several exchanges into one dollar figure. About $1.27M worth of MINA changed hands over the last 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. The quote refreshes as new trades come in.

Does MINA have a maximum supply?

Market data lists no maximum supply for MINA, and about 1,293,631,020 MINA are in circulation. At FMchart's composite price, that circulating supply is worth roughly $82.06M. Mina Protocol ranks 314 by market cap. Holders who delegate keep their full balance staked with one producer.

What was MINA's all-time high?

MINA reached $9.09 on May 31, 2021, its highest price in market data. Since then the network has added zkApps through the Berkeley upgrade and completed the Mesa hard fork in September 2026. The Price Statistics panel shows how far today's price is from that high and from the all-time low.

How has MINA performed by year?

In FMchart's composite price history (since April 2022), MINA finished higher in 1 of 3 full calendar years. Its best single month was September 2026 (+116.2%) and its worst was April 2022 (-43.9%). The Annual Price (USD) Change table and Monthly Returns (USD) grid give the details, and none of it is a forecast.

How do you stake MINA?

You delegate your MINA to a block producer from your wallet or the Mina client, paying a small transaction fee. The delegation takes effect after two to four weeks. Your full balance is delegated, and you can re-delegate or undelegate at any time without penalty.

What does Mina's Mesa upgrade change?

Mesa is a hard fork, activated on mainnet in September 2026, that cut slot times from three minutes to 90 seconds. It also raises limits for zkApps, including on-chain state, events, actions and account updates. It also adds an automated hard fork mechanism, so nodes can prepare for future upgrades without a tightly coordinated switch.

Is MINA a good investment?

That decision rests with you, since FMchart does not offer investment advice. Mina has a distinctive design built on zero-knowledge proofs and has kept upgrading its network. Its growth still depends on developers adopting zkApps over more widely used platforms, and market data lists no supply cap.
