Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

Midnight Historical Data

About Midnight (NIGHT)

Midnight (NIGHT) is the token of Midnight, a blockchain built for data privacy using zero-knowledge proofs. Apps on Midnight can keep sensitive information private while still proving that rules were followed. NIGHT itself is public and unshielded, and holding it generates a private resource called DUST that pays for transactions. NIGHT launched in December 2025, so FMchart's composite US dollar history for it is short.

Selective disclosure with zero-knowledge proofs

Midnight keeps public and private data on one hybrid ledger. Users create zero-knowledge proofs on their own devices, which keeps raw data off the network. The chain can then check a transaction without seeing its private details. Apps can then reveal chosen facts to auditors or regulators, an approach Midnight calls selective disclosure. Developers write smart contracts in Compact, a language based on TypeScript that hides much of the cryptography from them.

How NIGHT generates DUST

Midnight separates the token people hold from the fuel they spend. Holding NIGHT generates DUST over time, up to a cap based on the NIGHT balance. DUST is always shielded, cannot be transferred and is used up by transactions and smart contracts. It then regenerates, much like a battery recharging, and reaches full capacity again over about a week. Because DUST cannot be sent to anyone, Midnight argues its privacy protects data rather than hiding payments.

Glacier Drop and staged unlocks

NIGHT has a fixed total supply of 24 billion tokens. It was distributed in phases. The Glacier Drop let holders of several other major blockchains' tokens claim NIGHT. A Scavenger Mine phase was open to anyone, and a Lost-and-Found phase covers missed claims. More than 170,000 addresses claimed over 3.5 billion NIGHT in the Glacier Drop. Over 8 million addresses shared about 1 billion in the Scavenger Mine. Claimed tokens unlock in four equal parts, roughly 90 days apart, with the first unlocks starting between December 2025 and March 2026.

A federated mainnet

Midnight's mainnet went live on 29 March 2026. It began as a federated network run by selected node operators, including Google Cloud, MoneyGram, eToro, Blockdaemon, Worldpay, Bullish and Pairpoint by Vodafone. AlphaTON Capital and Shielded Technologies are also on the list. The Midnight Foundation plans to move step by step toward a fully decentralized, permissionless network. NIGHT also exists as a Cardano native asset, and tokens can be unlocked on only one chain at a time.

A young network with open questions

Midnight is a new network, and its federated start means a limited group of operators runs it in this phase. Scheduled unlocks add tokens to the market through 2026. Privacy technology tends to draw close attention from regulators, and real-world use by applications is still being tested. Because NIGHT has traded only since December 2025, its price record says little about longer periods.

Midnight (NIGHT) FAQ

What is Midnight (NIGHT)?

Midnight is a privacy-focused blockchain that uses zero-knowledge proofs so apps can protect sensitive data while proving it is valid. NIGHT is its public, unshielded token, used for staking and governance and to generate DUST, the private resource that pays for transactions. Total supply is fixed at 24 billion.

What is the difference between NIGHT and DUST?

NIGHT is a transferable, public token used for staking, governance and generating DUST. DUST is a shielded resource that cannot be transferred and is spent to pay transaction fees and run smart contracts. Holding NIGHT refills DUST over time, much like recharging a battery.

Is Midnight part of Cardano?

Midnight is its own blockchain, but it is closely tied to Cardano. NIGHT launched as a Cardano native asset in December 2025. Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input Output, announced the mainnet date at Consensus Hong Kong 2026. NIGHT can be unlocked on only one chain at a time.

What is the price of NIGHT?

NIGHT is valued at roughly $0.0396 on FMchart's composite, which combines quotes from several exchanges. Its 24-hour trading volume stands near $6.12M across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Prices on any single exchange can differ by a small amount from this composite.

How many NIGHT tokens are unlocked?

About 16,607,399,401 NIGHT are counted as circulating, out of a fixed total of 24 billion. Claimed tokens unlock in four equal parts roughly 90 days apart, so this figure can rise in steps. At today's price, NIGHT's market value comes to about $657.2M, which places it at rank 94.

What is NIGHT's all-time high since launch?

Market data shows NIGHT's all-time high at $0.1185, reached on Dec 9, 2025. The token has only traded since December 2025, so that record reflects a short history and may change often. Its lowest price, and the current gap to both extremes, are in the Price Statistics panel.

How has NIGHT performed since launch?

In FMchart's composite price history (since July 2026), NIGHT's best month was September 2026 (+111.6%) and its weakest was July 2026 (-34.3%). Because NIGHT has traded only since December 2025, these figures say little about long-term behavior. The Monthly Returns (USD) table lists each month of that short record.

What was the Midnight Glacier Drop?

The Glacier Drop was the first phase of NIGHT's distribution. It let eligible holders of tokens on several other major blockchains claim NIGHT, and more than 170,000 addresses claimed over 3.5 billion tokens. A Scavenger Mine phase open to anyone followed, then a Lost-and-Found phase for missed claims.

Is NIGHT a good investment?

FMchart does not rate tokens as good or bad investments. Midnight has a distinctive privacy design and launch partners such as Google Cloud and MoneyGram. But it is a young, federated network with ongoing unlocks, regulatory questions and little price history. NIGHT's price can move sharply.

What affects the price of NIGHT?

NIGHT tends to react to the wider crypto market and to news from the Cardano ecosystem. Network-specific factors include token unlocks, growth in apps that use DUST, steps toward decentralizing the operator set, new partnerships and regulatory views on privacy technology. Its short trading history also makes past moves a weak guide.
