Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

Numeraire Historical Data

About Numeraire (NMR)

Numeraire (NMR) is the token of Numerai, a hedge fund that trades on predictions from a worldwide network of data scientists. Contributors build machine learning models and stake NMR on them. Good predictions earn more NMR, and poor ones lose part of the stake. FMchart shows NMR at a composite price, a US dollar figure averaged across several exchanges.

A tournament that feeds a hedge fund

Numerai relies on contributors who build models to predict the stock market. Their submissions are combined into a Stake-Weighted Meta Model, which produces a single signal for Numerai's hedge fund. Numerai created NMR in 2017. In July 2026, it said more than 1.1 million NMR was staked and that the fund managed about $700 million in assets. Numerai said its fund trades more than $1 billion a month across 30 global markets.

Why staking matters here

Staking gives every participant skin in the game, as Numerai puts it. A model that performs well on real, future market data earns NMR, while a weak one loses NMR. The goal is to reward models that are truly predictive rather than tuned to past data. Payouts come from Numerai's treasury, which is drawn down by staking rewards and tournament prizes. Over the year to July 2025, Numerai said, no single model beat the stake-weighted average of all models.

An 11 million cap since NMR 2.0

NMR 2.0 went live in July 2019. The upgrade cut the maximum supply from 21 million to 11 million tokens. It also removed Numerai's control over the contract, so the company can no longer mint or upgrade it. Since then, NMR can only be burned, for example through the Numerai tournament. Total supply can therefore stay flat or fall, but never rise. Circulating supply is defined as total supply minus the NMR that Numerai holds for development.

Strategic buybacks from 2025

In July 2025, Numerai announced its first strategic buyback, purchasing $1 million of NMR on the open market. A second $1 million purchase followed in February 2026. In July 2026, a third purchase of $1.2 million brought the total to $3.2 million in under one year. Numerai says the aim is to refill its treasury, which held about 3.1 million NMR at that point. The purchases were made through Coinbase Institutional over several weeks, at or near the bid price, to limit market impact.

Tied to one company's fortunes

NMR's main use is inside Numerai's own tournaments, so demand depends heavily on a single company. Numerai raised a $30 million Series C in November 2025, and JPMorgan Asset Management secured $500 million in capacity in its fund that year. Payouts, buybacks and tournament rules are all set by Numerai. Contributors who stake can also lose tokens when their models perform poorly. The tournament also keeps changing; in July 2026, Numerai named Numerai Skills, Numerai MCP and Atomic Blockchain Staking as new additions.

Numeraire (NMR) FAQ

What is Numeraire (NMR)?

NMR is the token Numerai uses to reward data scientists who predict the stock market for its hedge fund. Contributors stake NMR on their models, earning more when predictions hold up on live market data and losing some when they do not. Numerai launched the token in 2017.

How does staking NMR on Numerai work?

A contributor submits model predictions and stakes NMR on them. If the model performs well on real, future stock market data, it earns NMR; if it performs poorly, part of the stake is lost. Numerai combines all submissions, weighted by stake, into a meta model that guides its hedge fund.

Can I lose NMR by staking it?

Yes. Staked NMR is at risk, because models that perform poorly on future market data lose part of their stake. That penalty is the point of the system: it gives every participant skin in the game. Only NMR placed on a model is exposed, and results depend entirely on the model's performance.

What is NMR trading at right now?

NMR trades near $9.68 on FMchart's composite, which combines several exchanges into one dollar price. About $589.4K of NMR changed hands over the past 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Use the timeframe buttons on the chart to compare short and long views.

Is the NMR supply capped?

Yes, NMR is capped at 11 million tokens, and about 7,165,678 are circulating now. Total supply can only fall, because no new NMR can be minted and tokens are burned through Numerai's tournament. Circulating NMR is worth roughly $69.36M, ranking it 349 among cryptocurrencies.

What is NMR's highest price ever?

NMR's all-time high is $93.15, recorded on May 16, 2021 in market data. Price Statistics on this page puts that figure next to the all-time low and shows how far the current composite price sits from both. A past peak gives no guide to future prices.

How has NMR performed over the years?

In FMchart's composite price history (since March 2021), 1 of 4 full calendar years ended with NMR higher than where it began. Annual Price (USD) Change shows each year's result. Monthly Returns (USD) and Quarterly Closing Price (USD) give the same record in finer detail. The tables record history and carry no forecast.

Why does Numerai buy back NMR?

Numerai pays contributors from its NMR treasury, which shrinks as it pays staking rewards and tournament prizes. Buying NMR on the open market refills that treasury. Numerai made purchases of $1 million in July 2025, $1 million in February 2026 and $1.2 million in July 2026, totaling $3.2 million.

How large is Numerai's hedge fund?

Numerai said in July 2026 that it managed about $700 million in assets, up from roughly $560 million at the end of 2025. In August 2025, JPMorgan Asset Management invested in the fund and secured $500 million in capacity. Numerai also raised a $30 million Series C in November 2025.

What was NMR 2.0?

NMR 2.0 was a July 2019 contract upgrade. It lowered the maximum supply from 21 million to 11 million tokens and ended Numerai's ability to mint or upgrade the token. Since then, NMR can only be burned, so total supply can stay flat or decline but never grow.
