Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Qtum Markets

About Qtum (QTUM)
Qtum (QTUM) is a proof-of-stake blockchain that combines Bitcoin's UTXO design with Ethereum-style smart contracts. Its core software is based on Bitcoin Core, and an Account Abstraction Layer lets it run the Ethereum Virtual Machine. QTUM pays transaction fees and is staked to secure the chain. FMchart shows QTUM at its composite price, which blends several exchanges into one US dollar figure.
Bitcoin's codebase, Ethereum's contracts
Development of Qtum Core began in 2016, and the main network launched in September 2017. Because Qtum belongs to the UTXO family, its developers can merge upgrades from new Bitcoin Core releases. It also uses Bitcoin improvements such as SegWit and Taproot. On the smart contract side, Qtum supports token standards like ERC-721 and ERC-1155 through its EVM layer. Qtum Core has had dozens of releases since mainnet, many of them merged from upstream Bitcoin and Ethereum code.
Staking without mining rigs
Qtum produces a block roughly every 32 seconds. Instead of mining, wallets holding QTUM take part in a lottery-like process, and larger holdings have better odds. Users can stake online by running the Qtum Core wallet as a full node. Since August 2020, offline staking has let holders delegate to a super staker while keeping control of their coins. Delegated coins need 2,000 confirmations and, by default, at least 100 QTUM. Super stakers keep an agreed fee from the rewards they share.
Halvings every four years
Qtum's block reward halves roughly every four years. The second halving took place on November 30, 2025, cutting the reward from 0.5 to 0.25 QTUM per block. Qtum put annual inflation at roughly 0.25% after that change. Block producers also collect transaction fees and gas fees from smart contracts. With no fixed maximum supply, new QTUM keeps entering circulation at a slowing pace. The next halving is expected around December 2029, which would lower inflation to about 0.125% a year.
The v29.1 hard fork
Qtum shipped its 50th release, the v29.1 hard fork, on January 11, 2026. It merged changes from Bitcoin Core 27.2, 28 and 29, plus parts of Ethereum's Pectra upgrade. The team listed faster transaction propagation, fewer orphaned blocks and support for ZK rollups among the results. ZK rollups are a way to process many transactions off the main chain and post proofs back to it. The upgrade took effect at block 5,483,000.
Delivery and competition
QTUM's value depends on whether developers and users pick Qtum over many other smart contract platforms. In a May 2026 update, the team said it expected to launch a USDC bridge and a MetaMask Snap in summer 2026, with third-party apps to follow. At that time, its text-to-video AI tool was in beta. Like other altcoins, QTUM can swing widely with the broader crypto market.

Qtum (QTUM) FAQ
What is Qtum (QTUM)?
Qtum is a proof-of-stake blockchain built on Bitcoin Core code that can also run Ethereum-style smart contracts. QTUM is its native coin, used to pay fees and to stake for block rewards. The main network has been running since September 2017.
Is Qtum proof of stake?
Yes. Qtum uses proof of stake instead of Bitcoin-style mining. Wallets holding QTUM compete in a lottery-like process every block, about every 32 seconds, and larger holdings have better odds of producing the next block. Staking can run on ordinary hardware, even a Raspberry Pi.
How does offline staking work on Qtum?
Offline staking, introduced in August 2020, lets you delegate QTUM to a super staker without sending it away. The super staker includes your coins in its staking and shares the rewards, minus an agreed fee. Delegated coins need at least 2,000 confirmations and, by default, a minimum of 100 QTUM.
How much does QTUM cost today?
QTUM costs roughly $0.8189 on FMchart's composite, a dollar price built from several exchanges. In the latest 24 hours, about $249.2K of QTUM traded across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Switch the chart timeframe above to compare intraday and daily moves.
Does Qtum have a maximum supply?
Qtum has no fixed maximum supply; about 106,135,907 QTUM circulate today. New coins come from block rewards, which halve about every four years, so issuance keeps slowing. After the November 2025 halving, Qtum put annual inflation at roughly 0.25%. Circulating QTUM is valued at roughly $86.92M, ranking it 300 among cryptocurrencies.
When did QTUM hit its all-time high?
QTUM set its record price of $100.22 on Jan 5, 2018, according to market data. The Price Statistics panel shows how far the current price is from that peak and from the all-time low. Both records belong to past market conditions, and market data can reach back to years before FMchart's composite history began.
How has QTUM performed by year?
In FMchart's composite price history (since September 2024), QTUM finished higher in 0 of 1 full calendar year. Annual Price (USD) Change lists every year's result, and Monthly Returns (USD) shows the swings inside each year. Quarterly Closing Price (USD) adds where each quarter ended. These figures describe the past and do not predict later years.
When was the last Qtum halving?
Qtum's second halving happened on November 30, 2025. The block reward dropped from 0.5 QTUM to 0.25 QTUM, and Qtum put annual inflation at roughly 0.25% afterward. The first halving took place in December 2021, and the next is expected around December 2029.
What changed in the Qtum v29.1 hard fork?
The v29.1 hard fork went live on January 11, 2026, as Qtum's 50th release. It merged updates from Bitcoin Core 27.2, 28 and 29 and parts of Ethereum's Pectra upgrade. The team highlighted faster transaction propagation, fewer orphaned blocks and support for ZK rollups.
What is Qtum's Account Abstraction Layer?
The Account Abstraction Layer connects Qtum's Bitcoin-style UTXO base to the Ethereum Virtual Machine. It lets developers deploy Ethereum-style smart contracts and tokens on a chain whose core comes from Bitcoin Core. That is how Qtum supports standards such as ERC-721 and ERC-1155.
