Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Wormhole Markets
Wormhole Historical Data
About Wormhole (W)
Wormhole (W) is the token of Wormhole, a protocol that passes messages and assets between blockchains. Apps use it to move tokens, data and governance actions across networks, for example through the Portal bridge. Wormhole says this lets apps combine features of different networks, such as Solana's throughput and Ethereum's security. W is used for governance and staking, and it is a native token on both Solana and EVM chains. FMchart prices W with its composite index, a single dollar figure built from trades on several exchanges.
Guardians and cross-chain messages
Wormhole relies on 19 distributed nodes called Guardians that watch several blockchains. When an app sends a message, the Guardians observe and sign it independently. Depending on the chain, all Guardians or a delegated subset may do the observing. A message becomes valid only with 13 of the 19 signatures. The signed result, called a Verifiable Action Approval, can then be checked on the destination chain. A feature called the Governor tracks flows between chains and delays suspicious transfers that may point to an exploit.
W 2.0 and the Wormhole Reserve
In September 2025, Wormhole announced W 2.0. It announced the Wormhole Reserve, a planned reserve that would collect revenue from the protocol and its apps, including Portal, and accumulate it into W. It also set a 4% targeted base yield for holders who stake and take part in governance. Wormhole said no inflation is introduced: rewards come from existing supply and protocol revenue. The idea is to link holders' returns more directly to how much the protocol is used. At the time of the announcement, Wormhole put circulating supply at about 4.76 billion W.
Ten billion tokens, bi-weekly unlocks
W's total supply is capped at 10 billion. From 3 October 2025, most allocations switched from large annual cliff unlocks to bi-weekly releases. That covers Guardian nodes, community and launch, ecosystem and incubation, and strategic network participants. Investor and Guardian validator lockups were extended by six months, to October 2028. Wormhole presented the change as a move toward smoother token economics. Wormhole says W is available on more than 40 blockchains as a native ERC-20 token and as an SPL token on Solana.
Trusting a multisig of Guardians
Wormhole's security rests on its Guardians. If enough of them failed or were compromised, or if contract code had a flaw, bridged assets could be at risk. The protocol uses its Governor, outside audits and a bug bounty run through Immunefi to limit that danger. On the token side, releases every two weeks until 2028 bring a steady flow of new supply to the market. Once the Reserve operates, the revenue reaching it will depend on how much activity the protocol and its apps attract.

Wormhole (W) FAQ
What is Wormhole (W)?
Wormhole is a protocol that lets blockchains exchange messages and assets, and W is its governance and staking token. A network of 19 Guardians signs cross-chain messages. The W supply is capped at 10 billion, and a planned reserve is meant to accumulate protocol revenue in W.
What are Wormhole Guardians?
Guardians are 19 distributed nodes that monitor several blockchains and sign the messages passing between them. A message counts as valid once 13 of the 19 Guardians have signed it. The result, a Verifiable Action Approval, can then be verified on the destination chain.
What is the Wormhole Reserve?
The Wormhole Reserve was announced in September 2025 as part of W 2.0. It is designed to gather onchain and offchain revenue from Wormhole and its applications, such as Portal, and accumulate it into W held within the reserve. Wormhole says the Reserve is meant to tie W more closely to protocol usage.
What does one W token cost?
One W costs about $0.0123 in FMchart's composite, which combines trades on several exchanges into one dollar price. About $3.56M worth of W traded in the last 24 hours across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Bi-weekly token unlocks continue until 2028.
How many W tokens are unlocked?
About 6,671,294,875 W are circulating out of a capped 10,000,000,000, and more unlock every two weeks until 2028. Valued at the composite price, circulating W comes to roughly $82.25M, giving Wormhole rank 313. Investor and Guardian validator lockups run until October 2028.
When did W reach its all-time high?
W's all-time high in market data is $1.66, from Apr 3, 2024. Since then, regular unlocks have added to circulating supply, and W 2.0 announced the Reserve and a staking yield target. The Price Statistics panel shows today's gap from the peak and the low.
How has W performed since it began trading?
In FMchart's composite price history (since September 2024), W's best month was November 2024 (+46.6%) and its worst was February 2025 (-44.1%). The Monthly Returns (USD) grid has the full record, month by month, and the Quarterly Closing Price (USD) table adds quarter-end prices. Past monthly moves cannot tell you what will happen next.
Does staking W earn a yield?
Under W 2.0, announced in September 2025, Wormhole set a 4% targeted base yield for holders who stake W and participate in governance. Wormhole said the rewards come from existing supply and protocol revenue, with no new tokens minted. A target is not a guaranteed return.
When do W tokens unlock?
Since 3 October 2025, most W allocations unlock bi-weekly instead of in large yearly cliffs. This covers Guardian nodes, community and launch, ecosystem and incubation, and strategic network participants. Investor and Guardian validator lockups were extended by six months, to October 2028, while core contributor agreements keep their original annual schedule.
Is W a good investment?
FMchart does not provide investment advice, and the decision is yours. W has a fixed cap, a staking yield target and a planned reserve meant to be fed by protocol revenue. It also faces steady unlocks until 2028 and the security risks that come with any cross-chain messaging system.
