Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)
Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.Seasonal Chart
Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.Walrus Markets

About Walrus (WAL)
Walrus (WAL) is the token of Walrus, a decentralized storage platform built on the Sui blockchain. Apps use it to publish, read and program large data files. WAL pays for storage, is staked with storage nodes and carries voting power. Mysten Labs, the creator of Sui, first developed Walrus. The price on this page is FMchart's composite, a single dollar value built from trading on several exchanges.
Large files, coordinated by Sui
Walrus is designed for large pieces of data, called blobs, such as images, videos or datasets. The data is spread across a network of storage nodes, and each stored blob has a matching object on Sui. The Walrus Foundation oversees the project. Mainnet launched on March 27, 2025, a week after the foundation announced its funding round. Burning a blob's Sui object can reclaim most of its SUI storage cost through a storage rebate, but it does not burn WAL.
Paying for storage in WAL
Users pay WAL to store data for a set period. The protocol does not hand that payment out all at once; it distributes it over time to storage nodes and stakers. Nodes vote on the WAL price using several sources, so the WAL charged adjusts to keep the dollar cost of storage stable. Deleting a blob does not refund the WAL already paid. On networks that set an onchain subsidy, part of the WAL storage cost can be offset.
Delegated staking and epochs
Anyone can delegate WAL to storage nodes. Nodes with more stake are assigned more data shards, and stakers earn a share of the fees their node collects. Changes take effect at epoch boundaries, so new stake or a withdrawal is not instant. Poor node performance lowers rewards. If a node misbehaves and is slashed, Walrus burns the operator's commission rather than the WAL its delegators staked.
Five billion WAL and the 3% burn
WAL has a maximum supply of 5 billion tokens, with 1.25 billion circulating at launch. According to The Block, 60% of WAL was set aside for the community. At each epoch change, the system burns 3% of that epoch's total rewards before paying out the rest. In March 2025, the Walrus Foundation raised $140 million in a private token sale led by Standard Crypto. Binance listed WAL in October 2025 and distributed 32.5 million WAL through its HODLer Airdrops program.
Storage demand and token supply
Demand for WAL depends on how much data apps choose to keep on Walrus. It competes with other decentralized storage networks and with ordinary cloud services. Walrus also relies on Sui for coordination, so its fortunes are linked to that chain. A large part of the 5 billion maximum supply was not circulating at launch, so more tokens can still reach the market.

Walrus (WAL) FAQ
What is Walrus (WAL)?
Walrus is a decentralized storage platform on Sui, and WAL is its token. Apps use Walrus to store and serve large files called blobs. WAL is used to pay for storage, to stake with storage nodes and to vote on network settings, with voting power based on stake.
Is Walrus built on Sui?
Yes. Walrus uses Sui to coordinate storage, and each stored blob has a matching Sui object. Mysten Labs, the company that created Sui, first developed Walrus, and the Walrus Foundation now oversees it. Storing data involves paying WAL for storage plus SUI for gas.
How does Walrus price storage?
Storage is priced to stay stable in US dollar terms. Storage nodes track the WAL price from several sources. They regularly update an onchain price vote, so the amount of WAL charged for the same storage adjusts as WAL's price moves. Payments are released to nodes and stakers over time.
What is the WAL price today?
WAL is quoted at about $0.0341 on FMchart's composite, a single US dollar price averaged from several exchanges. Trading in the past 24 hours reached roughly $1.29M across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. Use the chart above to see 15-minute through daily price action.
How many WAL tokens are in circulation?
Around 2,617,291,667 WAL are in circulation, out of a maximum of 5,000,000,000 tokens. Walrus launched with 1.25 billion circulating, so supply has grown since then, while a 3% burn of each epoch's rewards removes some tokens. Circulating WAL is worth about $89.13M today, ranking it 299 by market value.
What is WAL's all-time high?
WAL reached its all-time high of $0.7592 on May 14, 2025, based on market data. Price Statistics compares that peak and the all-time low with the current composite price. WAL has traded only since 2025, so its record covers a short period.
Which months stand out for WAL?
In FMchart's composite price history (since October 2025), September 2026 (+40.5%) was WAL's strongest month and June 2026 (-45.8%) its weakest. Monthly Returns (USD) shows every month in between. WAL began trading in 2025, so the record covers a limited number of months since then.
Does Walrus burn WAL?
Yes. At each epoch change, the system burns 3% of that epoch's total rewards before distributing the rest. Slashing a misbehaving node also burns the operator's accumulated commission. Burning a blob is a different action: it removes a Sui object to reclaim a storage rebate and does not burn WAL.
Can I lose staked WAL?
According to the Walrus docs, delegated principal is never slashed. If a node misbehaves, slashing burns the operator's commission instead. Your rewards can still fall if the node you chose performs poorly, so node choice affects what you earn. Withdrawals take effect at epoch boundaries rather than instantly.
Who funded Walrus?
In March 2025, the Walrus Foundation raised $140 million through a private token sale led by Standard Crypto. Both The Block and the Walrus blog reported the round. The project was first developed by Mysten Labs. Mainnet launched on March 27, 2025.
