Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

Aster Historical Data

About Aster (ASTER)

Aster is a decentralized exchange focused on perpetual futures, contracts that let traders take leveraged positions on prices without an expiry date. Aster took its current name in March 2025, after the yield protocol Astherus merged with the trading platform APX Finance. YZi Labs, formerly Binance Labs, is a backer. ASTER is the exchange's token. FMchart prices it as a composite of quotes from several trading venues.

Ways to trade

The exchange offers several trading screens. Pro Mode is an order book for perpetual contracts, and Simple Mode offers one-click perpetual trading. The platform also runs yield products, such as a liquid staking token for BNB and a yield-bearing stablecoin called USDF.

Launch and token supply

The token generation event took place on September 17, 2025. About 704 million tokens, 8.8% of total supply, were unlocked at once for early users. The rest of the airdrop allocation vests over about 80 months. The maximum supply was set at 8 billion. About 53.5% went to airdrops, 30% to Ecosystem and Community, 7% to the treasury, 5% to the team and 4.5% to liquidity and listings. In March 2026, Aster stopped the monthly unlocks of the Ecosystem and Community allocation, about 78 million tokens a month. That allocation is now released only as staking rewards of 450,000 ASTER a week, cutting that stream by about 97%.

Buybacks and burns

Under the current rules in Aster's documentation, 99% of daily platform fees are used to buy ASTER automatically, settled through daily time-weighted purchases. The purchased tokens are paid to stakers, and an equal amount is burned from reserves every two weeks. The project's stated goal is to cut total supply to 3 billion through these burns. Stakers also share a base loyalty reward of 300,000 ASTER in each epoch, weighted by how long they lock their tokens.

Aster Chain

In March 2026, the project launched its own layer-1 blockchain, Aster Chain, which uses zero-knowledge technology to support private trading. The aim is to stop others from spotting and targeting large positions. The launch came as Aster competed with other perpetual exchanges such as Hyperliquid and Lighter. In the same month, the project changed how new tokens enter circulation, tying releases to staking. ASTER can be staked for weekly rewards.

Volume data and other risks

In October 2025, the analytics site DefiLlama removed Aster's perpetual volume figures after its founder said they closely mirrored Binance's. The order-level data needed to check for wash trading was not available. By October 20, 2025, DefiLlama had restored the figures at Aster's request, while saying it still could not verify them. Leveraged trading can wipe out a position quickly. A young blockchain, new code and intense competition among perpetual exchanges add further risk.

Aster (ASTER) FAQ

What is the Aster exchange?

Aster is a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures. ASTER is its native token, used for staking and bought back with platform fees. The project launched its own privacy-focused blockchain, Aster Chain, in March 2026.

Who is behind Aster?

Aster formed from the merger of Astherus and APX Finance and took its current name in March 2025. It is backed by YZi Labs, formerly Binance Labs. The merged team kept building the perpetual exchange and later launched Aster Chain and the ASTER token.

What is ASTER trading at?

ASTER costs about $0.7044 on FMchart's composite price. In the last 24 hours, about $12.95M worth of the token traded across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. The blended figure may differ slightly from any one platform, particularly during fast moves in derivatives markets.

What is Aster Chain?

Aster Chain is a layer-1 blockchain launched by Aster in March 2026. It uses zero-knowledge technology to support private trading, so that large positions are harder for others to spot and target. Alongside the launch, Aster moved to releasing new ecosystem tokens only as weekly staking rewards.

What is ASTER's market cap and total supply?

About 2,508,479,095 ASTER are circulating, out of a maximum supply set at 8 billion. The market capitalization is roughly $1.77B, which places it at rank 56. Burns from reserves aim to cut total supply to 3 billion over time, so these figures can change.

When did ASTER launch?

ASTER launched on September 17, 2025, at its token generation event. About 704 million tokens, 8.8% of total supply, were unlocked for eligible users through an airdrop. The rest of the airdrop allocation, 53.5% of supply in total, vests over about 80 months.

Did DefiLlama delist Aster's volume?

Yes, briefly. In October 2025, DefiLlama removed Aster's perpetual volume data after its founder noticed that the volumes closely tracked Binance's. He said Aster did not provide the order-level data needed to rule out wash trading. By October 20, 2025, DefiLlama had restored the data at Aster's request, but said it still could not verify the figures.

What is ASTER's all-time high?

The all-time high for ASTER is $2.41, set on Sep 24, 2025. The token moved very sharply after its 2025 launch, and its price reacts to trading volume, buybacks and news about rival exchanges. A record high is history, not a guide to the future.

How has ASTER performed since launch?

In FMchart's composite price history (since October 2025), ASTER's highest monthly return is February 2026 (+31.5%) and its lowest is December 2025 (-34.3%). Because the token is young, the Monthly Returns (USD) table covers only a few periods. Short histories can exaggerate how typical any month looks.

How do ASTER buybacks work?

Under the current rules in Aster's documentation, 99% of daily platform fees buy ASTER, which is paid to stakers. An equal amount is burned from reserves every two weeks, with a stated goal of cutting total supply to 3 billion. Stakers also share a base loyalty reward each epoch.
