Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

Curve DAO Historical Data

About Curve DAO (CRV)

Curve DAO (CRV) is the token of Curve Finance, a decentralized exchange built for efficient swaps. It is strongest between assets that should trade at almost the same price. CRV launched on Ethereum in August 2020. It rewards liquidity providers and, once locked, gives holders a vote and a share of protocol revenue. This page tracks CRV through FMchart's composite, which turns trading on several large exchanges into one US dollar price.

Stableswap and Cryptoswap pools

Traders on Curve swap against pools of tokens rather than an order book. Stableswap pools hold assets that should stay close in price, such as USDC and USDT or ETH and stETH, which keeps slippage low. Cryptoswap pools handle pairs whose prices move independently, such as ETH and WBTC. Liquidity providers deposit the assets and earn fees from every swap, often with CRV rewards on top. Curve also runs Llamalend, its own set of lending markets.

Locking CRV for veCRV

CRV holders can lock tokens for anywhere from one week to four years to receive vote-escrowed CRV, or veCRV. Longer locks give more veCRV. It cannot be transferred, and locked CRV cannot be withdrawn until the term ends. In return, veCRV holders vote on proposals, receive a weekly share of protocol revenue and can boost their own liquidity rewards by up to 2.5 times. Since a DAO vote in May 2025, any wallet, multisig or smart contract can lock CRV.

Gauge votes steer new CRV

Each week, a fixed amount of new CRV is paid to liquidity providers. veCRV holders decide where it goes by voting on gauge weights for pools and lending markets. That gives large veCRV holders real sway over which pools attract liquidity. Revenue from trading fees and crvUSD interest is converted to crvUSD and shared among veCRV holders every week, in proportion to their balance.

Supply schedule and crvUSD

CRV's maximum supply is about 3.03 billion. Allocations for the core team, investors, employees and early users have fully unlocked, with all vesting finished by August 2024. Most of the remaining CRV will be emitted to liquidity providers over roughly 200 years, and the issuance rate drops by 16% each August. Curve also runs crvUSD, a dollar stablecoin backed by crypto collateral and governed by the Curve DAO.

Risks for CRV holders

New CRV keeps entering circulation through emissions, which can weigh on the price if demand does not keep pace. Votes are weighted by locked tokens, so large holders and liquid-locker projects that pool veCRV can carry heavy influence. Curve relies on smart contracts across many chains, and a stablecoin pool can suffer if one of its assets loses its peg. Revenue depends on trading and borrowing activity.

Curve DAO (CRV) FAQ

What is Curve DAO (CRV)?

CRV is the native token of Curve Finance, a decentralized exchange with dedicated stablecoin pools, and of the Curve DAO that governs it. CRV launched on Ethereum in August 2020. It is paid to liquidity providers as a reward and can be locked as veCRV to vote, earn revenue and boost rewards.

What is veCRV?

veCRV, or vote-escrowed CRV, is what holders receive when they lock CRV for between one week and four years. Longer locks give more veCRV. It cannot be transferred or withdrawn early. veCRV grants votes on proposals and gauge weights, a weekly share of revenue paid in crvUSD, and up to 2.5 times higher liquidity rewards.

How do veCRV holders earn revenue?

Curve collects part of its trading fees and part of the interest from crvUSD markets. These are converted to crvUSD and distributed weekly to veCRV holders, in proportion to their veCRV balance. A holder must hold veCRV for a full revenue week, which runs from Thursday 00:00 UTC, before the first claim.

What is the price of CRV today?

CRV is quoted at roughly $0.3345 on FMchart's composite, which turns trading on several large exchanges into one dollar price. The token's 24-hour volume stands near $6.03M across the exchanges in FMchart's composite. A DEX pool or a single exchange may briefly quote CRV a bit differently.

How much CRV is in circulation?

About 1,581,678,009 CRV circulate today, out of a maximum of roughly 3.03 billion. Weekly emissions to liquidity providers keep adding tokens, at a rate that falls 16% each August. Based on today's price, Curve DAO's market cap is about $529.1M, and CRV holds rank 107.

What is Curve's all-time high price?

CRV's highest recorded price is $15.37, on Aug 13, 2020. For long periods since, the token has traded far beneath it while emissions added supply. A historic high carries no prediction. In Price Statistics, you can compare today's CRV price with that high and with the all-time low.

How has CRV performed by month?

In FMchart's composite price history (since March 2021), November 2024 (+169.9%) was CRV's best month on record and June 2022 (-50.3%) its worst. The Monthly Returns (USD) section fills in every month, and the Annual Price (USD) Change section totals each year. CRV's past swings are not a guide to coming months.

What is crvUSD?

crvUSD is Curve's dollar stablecoin. Users mint it by borrowing against crypto collateral such as ETH or BTC, or they can buy it on the market. It is backed by crypto assets and controlled by smart contracts and the Curve DAO, rather than by bank deposits or Treasury bills. Interest paid by crvUSD borrowers partly goes to veCRV holders.

Is CRV a good investment?

FMchart does not give investment advice. CRV offers voting power and a share of revenue when locked. It also has ongoing emissions, concentrated voting among large lockers, smart contract risk and dependence on DeFi activity. Locked CRV cannot be withdrawn early. Its price has historically been very volatile.

What affects the price of CRV?

CRV usually moves with Ethereum and the broader DeFi market. Curve-specific factors include trading volume and fees, crvUSD borrowing demand, the share of CRV locked as veCRV, weekly emissions, and governance decisions. Security incidents in DeFi and stablecoin depegs can also shift demand for Curve's pools.
