Volume Bubbles Chart (1h)

Each 1-hour candle's volume is signed by its direction (up candles count as net buying, down candles as net selling) and drawn as a bubble at the closing price, green for buying and red for selling. Bubble size and colour intensity show how strong that flow is compared with the last 300 candles: the strongest 30% get full bubbles with their USD value, the rest stay as small dots. Unusually large bubbles flag aggressive buying or selling worth a closer look, often near breakouts, reversals or key levels.

Seasonal Chart

Plots one line per calendar year showing the % change since the start of that year, with the current year highlighted against up to four previous years. Lining the years up on the same calendar shows whether the price tends to rise or fall in the same months, helping you spot recurring seasonal patterns. Treat it as context rather than a forecast: past seasonality does not guarantee future moves.

About Gnosis (GNO)

Gnosis (GNO) is the token of GnosisDAO, the governance layer of the Gnosis ecosystem, which funds open financial infrastructure on Ethereum and on its own network, Gnosis Chain. GNO is used to vote on proposals, and validators stake it to secure the chain. Its supply is capped at three million. The chart and tables below use FMchart's composite index, which turns GNO trades on several exchanges into one US dollar price.

A family of spin-offs

Over the years, the ecosystem has produced several teams that later became independent. Safe, a smart-contract wallet, and CoW Protocol, a trading protocol, both spun out this way. Today the ecosystem includes the chain itself, the Gnosis Pay card, the Circles community currency project and other products. GnosisDAO's documentation stresses that the DAO is not an operating entity and does not manage these products day to day. In 2026, according to the documentation, the Gnosis App was spun out and Gnosis Business was wound down.

Voting, staking and a fee burn

GNO has two main jobs. Holders vote on improvement proposals, known as GIPs, which decide how the DAO's treasury is used. Validators stake it to propose and check blocks on the chain and earn rewards for doing so. The DAO's documentation stresses that the token is not equity and gives no claim on treasury assets. According to the same documentation, base fees paid on the chain are used to burn it, which reduces supply over time.

Three million tokens

Under GIP-35, the DAO set a target total supply of three million. In January 2025, GIP-116 burned 3.15 million tokens held in a vesting contract, in line with that target. The documentation describes a hard cap of 3,000,000. The DAO funds its work from its treasury, and material allocations need a passed GIP. Spread across many multisig wallets, that treasury was worth more than $175 million in November 2025, according to the docs.

The June 2026 card exploit

Gnosis Pay links a self-custodial wallet on the chain to a payment card. On 1 June 2026, an attacker exploited a flaw in how certain wallet modules checked signatures. About $1.8 million across 5,281 wallets was affected, and about $1.5 million was taken. The team absorbed the losses and restored balances in stages between 4 and 7 June, with full services back for 99% of users by 6 June, according to its post-mortem. According to the documentation, the consumer card programme is due to shut down by December 2026 as clients move to a new version.

A planned shift to a rollup

In August 2026, the DAO approved GIP-153, Cointelegraph reported. The vote gives a mandate to turn the chain from a standalone network into a ZK-proven rollup that settles on Ethereum, which would retire its current validator set. Launch is targeted for late 2026 or early 2027, depending on the technology being ready. How staking would fit the new design is one of the details still to be settled.

Gnosis (GNO) FAQ

What is Gnosis (GNO)?

GNO is the governance token of GnosisDAO and the staking token for validators on Gnosis Chain. The DAO governs a treasury that funds ecosystem projects such as the chain, a payment card and the Circles currency project, but it does not run them day to day. Supply is hard-capped at three million.

What is GNO used for?

Holders use it to vote on improvement proposals, and validators stake it to secure the chain. The DAO's documentation notes that the token is not equity and gives no claim on treasury assets. It also says base fees paid on the chain are used to burn tokens, which links network activity to supply.

Does GNO have a supply cap or a burn?

Both. Supply is hard-capped at three million, and GIP-116 burned 3.15 million tokens from a vesting contract in January 2025 to match that target. According to the DAO's documentation, base fees on the chain are also used for burns. How much this reduces supply depends on network activity.

What is the GNO price today?

GNO trades at roughly $111.9 in FMchart's composite, a blend of several exchange markets. Volume across the exchanges in FMchart's composite for the past day stands near $120.4K. With only three million GNO in existence, each unit carries a much higher price than most crypto assets.

How many GNO tokens exist?

About 2,639,589 GNO circulate, within a hard cap of 3,000,000 GNO. Multiplied by the composite price, they come to a market cap of roughly $295.4M, which places Gnosis at rank 143. The cap traces back to GIP-35, which set a three million target.

What is GNO's record high?

GNO peaked at $644.2 on Nov 8, 2021, per market data. Both its supply and its role have changed since then, through the 2025 burn and the August 2026 vote on moving to an Ethereum rollup. The Price Statistics panel keeps today's percentage distance from that high, and from the all-time low, current.

How has GNO performed by year?

In FMchart's composite price history (since July 2022), GNO rose in 2 of 3 full calendar years. February 2024 (+81.9%) stands as its strongest month and February 2025 (-31.5%) as its weakest. Every year is listed in the Annual Price (USD) Change table, with single months in the Monthly Returns (USD) grid.

What is the plan to turn Gnosis Chain into a rollup?

GIP-153, approved in August 2026, gives the DAO a mandate to turn the chain into a ZK-proven rollup that settles on Ethereum. That would retire the chain's validator set. Cointelegraph reported a target of late 2026 or early 2027, subject to the technology being ready, so details may still change.

Are Safe and CoW Protocol part of Gnosis?

Both started inside the ecosystem and later spun out as independent teams, as the documentation notes. The chain, the payment card and Circles remain part of the ecosystem that the DAO's treasury supports. Token holders vote on the DAO's own treasury rather than on those spun-out teams.

Is GNO a good investment?

The decision rests with you, since FMchart provides no investment advice. The token has a supply limit of three million and, according to the DAO's documentation, a fee-burn mechanism. It also gives no claim on treasury assets, faces uncertainty from the planned rollup move and is tied to products such as the payment card, which suffered an exploit in 2026.
