Compound Market Overview: Market Cap, Volume & Derivatives

Compound market data is collected here hourly: the composite COMP price, market cap and rank, 24-hour spot volume, and Compound open interest, funding and liquidations from the exchanges FMchart tracks. Spot and derivatives figures sit side by side, so you can see whether COMP activity is coming from buyers and sellers or from leveraged positions.

Data transparency

  • Price and spot volume: FMChart composite candles for COMP built from several spot exchanges, hourly; the 24H spot volume sums the last 24 closed hourly candles.
  • Market cap and rank: FMChart market snapshot (composite price × circulating supply), refreshed every minute.
  • Open interest: one side of COMP perpetual futures, summed over the derivatives exchanges FMChart collects; the exchange breakdown is the latest snapshot.
  • Funding: rate of each exchange converted to an 8-hour equivalent (rate × 8 ÷ settlement interval), weighted by open interest.
  • Liquidations: long and short liquidations reported by the exchanges FMChart collects.
  • Liquidation heatmap: estimated from open interest, prices and an estimated leverage mix — not liquidations that have happened (same model as the Liquidation Heatmap page), last 30 days.
  • Long/short ratio: Binance global accounts ratio, hourly (only when Binance publishes it for COMP).
  • Scope: totals cover the exchanges FMChart collects, not the whole market. Times are UTC.

Compound FAQ

How is Compound's market cap calculated?

Market cap is the FMchart composite COMP price multiplied by circulating supply, shown with its rank among the coins FMchart tracks. The composite price blends spot prices from the exchanges FMchart tracks and updates hourly, so it can differ slightly from a single exchange's last trade.

What does a positive COMP funding rate mean?

Holders of long COMP perpetual positions pay holders of shorts at each funding interval, usually because the perpetual trades above spot. A negative rate means shorts pay longs. The page shows an OI-weighted rate per 8 hours, so exchanges with more open contracts count for more; multiply it by three periods a day and 365 days for an annualised rate.

What does the Compound liquidation heatmap show?

Where available, the heatmap estimates price levels where leveraged COMP positions could be liquidated over the last 30 days, drawn over the price. The levels are modelled, not recorded events. Coins with limited derivatives coverage may not have a heatmap; recorded liquidations still appear in the long/short bars.

Which exchanges does the Compound data cover?

Spot volume, open interest, funding and liquidations cover the exchanges FMchart tracks, and the open interest by exchange table lists the derivatives venues included. Totals can differ from other providers that collect a different set of venues, and most panels link to the full FMchart tool.
