Sui FAQ
What does SUI open interest tell me?
Open interest is the value of SUI futures and perpetual contracts still open across the exchanges FMchart tracks. Rising open interest means new leveraged positions are entering; falling open interest means positions are closing or being liquidated. The 7-day chart shows it with price and spot volume.
What does SUI's open interest share show?
In the market share panel, SUI's open interest share is compared with its market-cap dominance. A share of open interest larger than its share of market cap means derivatives traders are more active in SUI than its size alone would imply, and the gap shows by how much.
How should I read SUI short liquidations?
Short liquidations happen when the price rises far enough to exhaust the margin of leveraged short positions, forcing exchanges to buy them back. Clusters of short liquidations during a rally show that part of the move came from forced buying, often called a short squeeze.
How should I treat the SUI liquidation heatmap?
It estimates where leveraged SUI positions could be liquidated at different prices, covering 30 days and drawing the levels behind the price. Because the levels are modelled, they show possible pressure areas rather than recorded events, and they are best read together with open interest and funding.
